John Martin Dam is a reservoir on the Arkansas River in southeastern Colorado. Just south of Hasty, the dam and surrounding areas provide viewing of abundant wildlife, exquisite sunrises, sunsets and views from the top of this 118 foot high structure that rival picture postcards. The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, Division of Wildlife and State Park Service work together to provide a broad spectrum of outdoor recreation year-round including hunting, fishing and water sports. The small town of Hasty, approximately 2 miles north of the reservoir, has a grocery, bait and tackle shop and bed and breakfast.
