Lamar Colorado Boasts Pikes Tower
Featured in most Lamar, Colorado brochures, you’ll find Pikes Tower, a structure built by the WPA in the mid 1930′s. To arrive at Pikes Tower, simply turn east in front of Taco Johns, drive across the Willow Creek Bridge and turn into the Willow Creek Park Drive (but don’t go too far – that narrow lane is one way going your direction).

Welcome to Lamar, Colorado – Summer Tourist Destination
Are you seeking a community where you can spend the summer relaxing, enjoying people, activities, and sharing the joy of living? Lamar, Colorado is such a community. We’re more than tourist friendly, we welcome you with open arms! This summer, the new World Series Baseball Diamond is being constructed in Lamar’s Merchants Baseball Park. Near the center of town the Merrill Brush Football Stadium and the Community Center offer sporting and activities centers for the family. The Lamar City Swimming Pool near the Willow Creek Park offers day and evening swim times in an Olympic size pool. If you just want to sit back and admire some of the WPA stonework in the area, a visit to Willow Creek Park offers many opportunities to do so, beginning with the Boy Scout Kiva on the east side of the park.
