“Anything Goes” (but don’t talk about killing prairie dogs)
Tree hugging greenies who choose to protect the rights of animals (even those that danger other animals) have taken out residence in Lamar. It seems our own Ty Harmon had a visit from the local Sheriff’s office based on his comments about shooting the little rascals on the popular local radio show “Anything Goes”. Of course, since they’re not supposed to talk about killing prairie dogs on the air, half a show was dedicated to the topic. (It seems you just can’t stop a country boy from talking about a topic, no matter who you get involved.) So, what’s the big deal? Pritchett America offers up a collection of prairie dogs to present Ty on his portion of the show. Ranchers around the area know the damage a herd of prairie dogs can cause to a herd of cattle wondering around the prairie in the winter. A prairie dog may be able to locate his hole under the snow, but a man on horseback, or a cow blinded in a blizzard may be doomed to die because of a broken leg, in a prairie dog hole he doesn’t see. There’s probably some turn around flack about me asking this question read more…
Anything Goes – Featuring Don Emick & Pat Palmer
This you gotta hear. I wish I could turn on the microphone! These boys along with the “Anything Goes” regulars, Eric Stone and Ty Harmon are bound to be a heap of laughter. Never more fun on the radio than when Big Timbers Museum sends over Don and Pat to promote history. Mexican Dinners, Hamburgers in Wiley, and so many more events are announced this morning on KLMR, Lamar’s longest running radio. Eric keeps us up to date on all the local events. It’s a great way to stay current on events and schedule your calendar for the month – July 4th is busy. Plenty of free meals out there if you’re ready to join in and help out. Of course, Ty has to pop in with a Pinata smacking good time, to remind folks to take their video camera. Um Ty, stand up here, real close… P-3 Pool Party is Monday, July 6th from 7 to 9. Pizza and pool house fun for everyone. Come on out! Of course, the weather for the weekend is fluctuating temperatures and rain showers. It’s that time of year, we get a lot of thunderheads over Independence Day – competition for fireworks. And read more…

Live Streaming from KLMR – Anything Goes Comes to Denver
Okay – there are those who probably won’t think this is GREAT! But, I do. You see, I absolutely LOVE the morning show on KLMR. “Anything Goes” has been my favorite radio show since Clare Behan spoke the magic words way back when I was a kid. I loved waking up to “And now… “Anything Goes” every morning before school. So, now, on those mornings when I’m out of bed and avoiding the high traffic rush of Denver, I can turn on the live stream and listen to Ty Harmon and Erik Stone chatting up the Lamar News. Sometimes, I catch them hosting exciting guest speakers or discussing local events with Mayor Roger Stagner. Not that Roger isn’t exciting… but… Just sayin’… It’s good to know that when you’ve moved far away from your hometown (all the way to the big city) there’s a little part of small town tucked into the recesses of your computer. That’s a good thing. So, if you’re looking for a little piece of home, check out the live KLMR streaming link in the right hand sidebar. It’s a real hummer!
