YCLoC come to Lamar
Sean Verhoeff, Executive Director of Young Conservative Leaders of Colorado announced earlier today that he and several conservative candidates will be visiting Lamar, Colorado on May 17th in support of the 5000 Year Leap Class taking place at the Lamar Community Building. The class teaches the fundamental foundation and purpose of the Constitution of the United States of America. This class is where Sean Verhoeff determined to make a difference by striking out on his own to not only educate the youth of America about the foundational purposes of our forefathers, but also about the importance of knowing and standing up for the Constitution of the United States. “The people of Colorado cannot afford to allow the Washington Political Machine to select Colorado’s candidates for state representation. The incestuous actions of the Washington Regime have cost the people of Colorado Freedom and Taxes. It’s time to take back our freedom and speak out on behalf of the people of Colorado. Colorado needs a candidate who listens to their voice and stands up for them in Washington,” Verhoeff stated, when asked why he supports solid conservative candidates from his group site located at YoungConservativeLeadersofColorado.com. The group is also located on facebook, read more…
Points of Honor – Correction Accepted!
Thank You!!! Sheriff Jim Faull took a second look at the Handgun bill from this morning’s “Anything Goes” and last Friday’s The Local Buzz and found the same results we’d reported here at LamarCo.US. While he believed his source to be credible, the reality is, we MUST verify facts for ourselves, before we press forward with releasing information to the World Wide Web, or any other media source. Seriously, this issue has been stated and restated, but everyone has a lesson to learn from hearing it once again. No matter who you hear something from, or what you hear, VERIFY your facts. Before you send on an email, think about your own credibility and reconsider hitting that FORWARD button. You may want your friend to believe you next time, and if you’ve sent them more bogus mail than real, they may not trust you. Your credibility is worth more than the simple strike of a button on the keyboard. How many times have you pushed the forward button, thinking it’s just a cutsy article and everyone should see it? Is it something that may make a difference if it’s FALSE? Could someone be injured by the contents of CUTE? While read more…

Credibility Issues – Local Leaders and Media
Late last week, I revealed a local paper’s “Letter’s to the Editor” with fictitious information on a bill being run past the Congress currently. That issue became bigger than life this morning on KLMR’s Radio Station “Anything Goes” show. As a citizen of the community, I’ve always listened to Anything Goes and taken the information with a grain of salt, because the producers comment that they haven’t necessarily checked it out, and the opinions expressed there are not necessarily the opinions of the show host or owners of the station. Se la Vi. No issue taken there, nor was any intended. The issue at hand, includes a local Sheriff, Jim Faull, commenting on an email he received from an unknown source, recognizing a bill “Handgun Safety Bill of 2000″ as being somehow resurrected in 2009. Nope, not true. This bill, according to Snopes is false. According to Urban Ledgeds, the bill died in the committee of finance in 2000 and has been circulating under various titles ever since. According to Fact Check, this bill is an annual event on email forwarding and has seen better days, but is still non-existent. Personally, I didn’t want to assume the Sheriff didn’t know read more…
