Reed receives October 2011 BEST Selling Author AWARD
Former Lamar, Colorado based organization with more than 2300 members and growing strong, announces local author Oris Reed as the October 2011 Best Selling Author for his book, “Along the Back Roads of Yesterday” under his pseudonym, Oris George. Reed a long time resident of southeastern Colorado has sponsored numerous book signings in Lamar, Colorado and surrounding area. A member of the organization for more than five years, Reed occasionally offers guest posts on the organizations website and participates in forum critiquing sessions. Reed promotes his book by offering up writer tips, suggestions and ideas that help other writers to promote their books. His efforts don’t go unnoticed as authors and readers from all over the globe have caught wind of his recent publication “Along the Back Roads of Yesterday” and requested that it be a featured book on the ACE Writers Spotlight. Oris Reed’s book is featured on the ACE Writer Spotlight. The stories in his book feature personal essays of his life lived in the 1940′s and 50′s as a small boy getting into mischief and reminding the world that small boys do grow up. Tupperware Lady Relocating – Your Benefit
Local Tupperware representative, Kathy Briggs, announced that she’ll be relocating soon and has a warehouse of Tupperware to sell before the big moving day. She shares that although the miles may separate her from her hometown, she’ll still be selling Tupperware and will be happy to fill any requests or needs. She can be reached currently via social media – facebook – and will be in contact with her clients as soon as possible. Meanwhile, if you need anything, she’s got an excessive amount of plastic and needs to get rid of inventory before she moves, so give her a call. Sale times will be: 409 S. 6th St, (719)940-3882. Carol Owens announced earlier today the Grand Opening of Country Treasures, a shop located at 120 South Main Street in Lamar, Colorado. She’ll be welcoming guest vendors and an author at her store for the event on September 17, 2011, to coincide with the Lamar Fall Festival, an annual event in the community. Country Treasures located next door to Crafter’s Corner, on the west side of Main Street, offers a wide selection of antique furniture, treasures and collectibles as well as many handmade gift items, western decorator accessories, handmade jewelry and an old fashioned candy counter. Owens has planned a full spectrum of events for the day, including door prizes, drawings and a treasure hunt on the premises. You won’t want to miss out on these prizes!
