Police Reports for Lamar – WOW!
Identity theft in Lamar? I was shocked. But there were three listings of personal documents being stolen over the radio today. One of those in Lamar, detailed documents being stolen contained identification papers. As the 5 O’clock whistle blows I note the local news and listen to Erik Stone’s familiar voice talking about local events including the Hospice Barn Dance and wonder if there’s more to the local info theft than just documents. Has someone here locally already lost identification docs to a local theft? Have people here lost their identity or cash money to local thieves? Revelation – Stock’s Letter of Resignation
(Contents of the Letter) August 6, 2007 Mayor and Members of the City Council City of Lamar 102 East Parmenter Lamar, CO 81052 Dear Ladies and Gentlemen, I have been doctoring most of this spring and summer in an effort to deal with hypertension caused by the stress of my job. As you know Acute Hypertension can cause permanent organ damage and I have experienced blood pressure readings high enough to indicate Acute Hypertension. My doctor has informed me that I must either reduce the stress I am experiencing, or I must quit my job. I will continue with my efforts to remove stress and stress related activities. I may even request from you a medical leave of absence to address this issue. However, I want you to be aware that I am seriously considering retiring on my next birthday, July 2010, for these medical reasons. For those of you who may be considering running for re-election or for election, I want you to be aware that it is likely that you will have to consider a search for my replacement beginning in the Spring. This will put a considerable strain on your time and reduce our effectiveness in 2010. read more…
