SWAT Team in Lamar?

After three phone calls from Lamar-ites asking about the SWAT team presence in Lamar Thursday night, I asked what was going on. Got a message back with this report:

Officers executed a search warrant in the 1000 Blk S. 8th St. Joseph A Clark, 37 of Lamar was arrested for possession/distribution of schedule II control substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of less than 1 oz marijuana. Clark was held on $50,000 bond.

SWAT Team running through a neighborhood, heads down, guns out, might not be an unusual scene in some communities but it is in Lamar. First caller said it looked like an NCIS search and seizure, called to ask if I knew anything (Guess I tend to know before they do at home?). I was out buying a new car with my daughter and hadn’t heard a thing. My techy powers stop when I go out to have fun with my kids… I like my privacy. Next caller said she thought it was the local PD until she saw the big black uniforms (I know, they always look bigger than life) and watched them run. The last caller woke me up because she’d seen my Facebook post asking for info (an hour and a half earlier) and wanted to find out if I knew yet, what it was.

Nope, just waiting to find out…

Guys, I really don’t write the news. I write commentary on the news and reviews of events, more often than not with an opinionated twist. Yup, my opinion. My twist.

As for my friendly little “birdgirl” reader who thinks I shouldn’t have an opinion because I don’t live there anymore… Right back at ya, chicki-poo. I love the readers on my blogs, EVEN you. Thanks for the comment-love, it increases my ratings, which are nice and high, thanks to all my wonderful readers.

As for my comments on the event… Way to go, taxpayers, one more druggie off the streets. Now, can we stop picking up and playing with the piddly user dudes and go get some big bad druggies to stick in jail. I’m sure Lamar could use some REAL excitement! Headlines bring tourists for a great crossroads connection.
