Lisa Nolder anounced a bright spot, after a night of terror, just more than 24 hours after five tornadoes swept three counties in the southeastern corner of the state.
Prowers County receives SMALL COMMUNITY OF THE YEAR AWARD from the Economic Development Council of Colorado!!!!
This award is given to a small community with population of 20,000 or less for exhibiting strong economic growth, investment in economic development, successful business development projects, and community planning. This is an award that we should all be very proud to receive! As many small communities continue to experience economic decline, Prowers County has held our position as a small community leader in the state of Colorado.
Congratulations to all of our government entities, businesses, and citizens. We received this award because of your vision, strength, and perseverance. Although the best of times and worst of times can often run parallel, let this award be an inspiration to all of you who call Prowers County home… Because it is a tribute to our strength and ability to persevere and shine, and make our county a great place to work, live and play…
Always a pleasure to remind the citizens of our fair community that we’re recognized as a bright spot on the map, right in the heartland of the United States. Keep up the good work! Stay focused on your goals and keep bringing new business and industry to the community. A growing community is a working community.
