City Code Enforcement Gone MAD – again
Bristling with attitude? The police and code enforcement officers around Lamar, Colorado are out to make the city a few bucks again this summer. “Mow your yard, move your truck, landscape to meet their demands and don’t mess with the controlling minds that want to tell you how to live. Otherwise we’ll bring you into court, fine your sorry excuse for a tax payer’s existence, and make you regret that you’re living in this town.” … or so the code inspector implies as he delivers the fine with a smile and a bad comb-over. Meanwhile, there’s a dog running lose, that he hasn’t the time to catch, because he’s too busy checking someone’s fence, measuring a weed, or revisiting a parked vehicle in front of someone’s house. Oh, and while we’re at it… Hand over your guns! The City of Lamar has stressed keeping Lamar clean and beautiful by providing free city clean up days over the past several years. The Code Enforcement Officers of the Lamar Police Department work daily to identify and clean up problem areas of the community. Make Some NEW Memories at the Town Square
Lamar, Colorado (my hometown) is having a “Make New Memories” night at the town square: Saturday night 7:30 PM – Main Street at the court house. Everybody come on out and lets remember how things used to be. Just a good old fashioned BS session to say howdy to everyone. Bring the memories and let’s see who shows up. Someone please take pictures and post them. I hope there’s a crowd shows up and shares comments. That’s Tomorrow Night – any Saturday Night – same time, same place. If you’re in town, this is something fun and exciting to do. See who comes out on Saturday Night! This subject came up among friends, discussing how there used to be fun things to do in Lamar, and how often we used to spend the evening stopping over and visiting friends, parked on Main Street chatting with people we hadn’t seen all year. After three phone calls from Lamar-ites asking about the SWAT team presence in Lamar Thursday night, I asked what was going on. Got a message back with this report: Officers executed a search warrant in the 1000 Blk S. 8th St. Joseph A Clark, 37 of Lamar was arrested for possession/distribution of schedule II control substance,
