City Code Enforcement Gone MAD – again
Bristling with attitude? The police and code enforcement officers around Lamar, Colorado are out to make the city a few bucks again this summer. “Mow your yard, move your truck, landscape to meet their demands and don’t mess with the controlling minds that want to tell you how to live. Otherwise we’ll bring you into court, fine your sorry excuse for a tax payer’s existence, and make you regret that you’re living in this town.” … or so the code inspector implies as he delivers the fine with a smile and a bad comb-over. Meanwhile, there’s a dog running lose, that he hasn’t the time to catch, because he’s too busy checking someone’s fence, measuring a weed, or revisiting a parked vehicle in front of someone’s house. Oh, and while we’re at it… Hand over your guns! The City of Lamar has stressed keeping Lamar clean and beautiful by providing free city clean up days over the past several years. The Code Enforcement Officers of the Lamar Police Department work daily to identify and clean up problem areas of the community. School Funding — 4 Day School Week for Lamar
I’ve spent much of the last several days trying to decide whether to step into this foray or avoid it like the plague… Avoiding it is my favorite of the two choices, but then there’s the reality of what is happening and how far the people of Lamar, and other communities are being railroaded into submission by those at the helm of local educational institutions, state and national chapters of the Department of Education.
