Prowers County receives the Small Community of the Year Award. Lisa Nolder anounced a bright spot, after a night of terror, just more than 24 hours after five tornadoes swept three counties in the southeastern corner of the state. Prowers County receives SMALL COMMUNITY OF THE YEAR AWARD from the Economic Development Council of Colorado!!!! This award is given to a small community with population of 20,000 or less for exhibiting strong economic growth, investment in economic development, successful business development projects, and community planning.
