Just a couple days back, Danielle Simone, a writer from southeastern Colorado contacted me and asked if I’d consider doing a recipe sight for southeastern Colorado. Sure! Why not?
So, SECO Recipes was born.
Whether you know her or not, you might want to be aware that Danielle has a little bit of Italian heritage. Just enough to know that her American spirit is most decidedly steeped in Olive Oil. I’m almost certain there’s a bit of tomato and olive in there too, but definitely Olive Oil… On rare occasions, her Italian-style Mama-ism comes out in ways that don’t involve cooking (although there might be a bit of heat involved), but more often than not, it all reveals itself in her show-stopping, yummy, good food. She’ll feed you until you burst with seam-popping good flavors.
Danielle’s recipes kick started this site and I’ve been filling in with a few of my own, including some news items and fun events in the lower Arkansas Valley since we started the site. Danielle is busy relocating back into her home in Hasty after a fright-filled move to Missouri earlier in the year. I warned her about the ghosts in Missouri, but she didn’t want to listen. However… she came back! And we’re glad she’s here!
So, if you haven’t had an opportunity to visit SECO Recipes yet, click on the link above, or the banner and go check them out. You’ll find more than just Italian stuff in there, we’ve been adding country flavors too.
Hurry!

Although it’s sometimes hard to find an Italian restaurant in southeast Colorado, it is not hard to find delicious, hearty and nutritious recipes and restaurant fare.
Jan has added some great stuff over the past year. Stop by, try out her recipes and let her know how they worked in YOUR kitchen.
Truth be told…Jan ran her own restaurant some years ago…she never lacked for customers!! And you never leave her table unsatisfied! (Just don’t count the calories!)
