St. Jude Children’s Hospital Walking Fundraiser

The students and staff at Washington Elementary School will be walking 1 mile together this Friday, October 7th! We want to raise awareness and money for St. Jude Children’s Hospital, a hospital dedicated to fighting pediatric cancer and other diseases in children.  This hospital, based in Memphis,Tennessee is the only pediatric cancer research center where families never pay for treatment not covered by insurance. The Lamar High School FBLA club will be walking for St. Jude on Sunday, October 9th. Friends of the Library Book Sale Until October 5!

Mikki Cartwright shares: Book sale going on at the Cultural Events Center at the City Complex. Lots of books this time. Also music, magazines, and videos. Wednesday, the last day, is “bag day”. Buy them, read them over the winter, and take them back for the spring sale! Buy a bunch and help the Friends of the Library support the Summer Reading Program.
